General description
The DTU Wind Energy is a department under the Technical University of Denmark and represents a cross-disciplinary research environment. The Department contributes to research, development and international exploitation of sustainable energy technologies and strengthens economic development in Denmark.
DTU Wind Energy is one of Europe's leading research departments in wind energy and is a significant player in international collaboration. DTU creates pioneering research results and contributes actively to their exploitation, both in close dialogue with the wider society. The majority of our scientific projects are conducted in collaboration with Danish industry. DTU has large test facilities and interdisciplinary research environments that enable us to solve problems across traditional professional boundaries and competences.
The Department of Wind Energy has a long record for research in meteorology, wind turbines and experimental testing as well as design and certification and currently employs approx. 240 people including 160 scientists and approx. 50 PhD students.
